Recent amendment to IGPD13

AFSA’s practice document Debt agreement administrators' guidelines to certification requirements (or IGPD13) has been amended to note a change of expectations with respect to certification duties for variations of debt agreements in the event of natural disasters or pandemics. We welcome your feedback on this amendment by 1 July.

AFSA acknowledges the uncertainty and difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and recent natural disasters. The impacts have been significant, ranging from loss of work or income, loss of property and/or possessions, and restricted communication.

We understand that as debt agreement administrators, you may be administering matters where the debtors have been impacted by these events.

In response to this, The Inspector-General has made the decision to amend AFSA’s practice document Debt agreement administrators' guidelines to certification requirements (or IGPD13) to note a change of expectations with respect to debt agreement administrators’ certification duties for variations of debt agreements in the event of natural disasters and pandemics.

The amendment can be found in the section titled ‘Certification requirements in the event of natural disasters or pandemics’ (on page 13) in the revised practice document linked below.
